Brunchin with Gelle had the opportunity to attend the Blended Burger Project founded by the James Beard Foundation. The event was held at the infamous black owned restaurant Kitchen 713.
The Blended Burger Project was founded by the James Beard Foundation. “The James Beard Foundation’s mission is to celebrate, nurture, and honor chef’s and other leaders making America’s food culture more delicious, diverse, and sustainable for everyone.”
The idea for the Blended Burger Project challenges chefs across the country to add at least 25% of mushrooms to there burger recipes. The idea is not to become a vegetarian but instead a BLENDATARIAN!
I had the honor of tasting the co owners of Kitchen 713 blended burger recipes as well as the Executive Chef from Hotel Zaza.
Here is another treat, there is a list of restaurants who are participating across the country in this project which ends on July 31st. You have the opportunity of trying a blended burger at a participating restaurant and voting for your favorite burger! Here is where you can find more information —> Blended Burger Project
